Ted Baker came into being in 1987, when the brand began designing and producing tailored menswear items. The first Ted Baker store opened a year later in Glasgow, and was shortly followed by others, including a store in Covent Garden, London.
From the early 90’s onwards Ted Baker began expanding at a rapid rate. More and more stores opened, new collections were introduced and, by 1995, Ted Baker had launched its first line of womenswear.
The popularly of Ted Baker was unstoppable and in 1998 the brand cracked the American market. By 2001, Ted Baker had become a full lifestyle brand.
